I was so fortunate to be crowned Miss Alabama 2009. Being Miss Alabama has been a dream of mine since I was 12 years old, and it is surreal that this dream has come true. The Miss Alabama Pageant is part of the Miss America Organization, which is the largest scholarship resource for women across the United States, providing 45 million dollars in scholarship assistance each year. The Miss Alabama Pageant alone awards $98,000 in cash scholarships and millions in in-kind scholarships. I am so blessed to have this opportunity and look forward to serving the state of Alabama and representing our state in the Miss America Pageant in Las Vegas on January 26 – 30, 2010.
